ROCKING OUT LOUD...
The ULTIMATE Rock Band Experience!
What we are
Our School of Rock Band Camp provides a supportive environment for young musicians to have fun playing music with other kids/teens, develop their song-writing skills and introduce them to the experience of working in a recording studio.
It is the first camp of its kind to bring musicians together and form a band, write an original song and record the song in a state of the art recording studio, all within two weeks!
- What we do
Drummer
Bass Player
Keyboardist
Guitar Player(s)
Singers
While working with their bandmates, each member will also receive individualized training on their instruments as well as assistance with songwriting and composition techniques from our experienced and multi-talented instructors. At the end of the camp, each band member will receive an MP3 of the song they wrote and recorded at the studio.
- How we do it
Days 1-4
The band spends this time writing, arranging and rehearsing their new song. Other instructors from School of Rock will be brought into the sessions to coach the musicians and give them helpful tips on the songwriting process. Under the guidance of the instructors, each band member will contribute their own ideas to the song they are writing. Once the song is complete, the remaining time will be focused on performing and arranging their new song and preparing for the recording process.
Days 5-8
This is when it all comes together. After four days of writing, arranging and rehearsing, the band makes their way into the recording studio. Band members will experience firsthand how professional musicians record songs in a studio. Each member gets to record themselves playing their instrument for the song they just wrote. This unique opportunity exposes band members to the recording process and how it works from start to finish. On the last day the band will have a completed recording and will leave with a CD of their song

sale up front, lessons in a 4×4 storage area] and happened to see a drum lesson taking place. There was a drum instructor and student. Both were playing on practice pads. If you don’t know what a practice pad is, it is a pad most drummers use to warm up and play rudiments, or they are used when you can’t play too loud. Then I looked around and saw no drum set! I wondered how in the world can you teach drums without a drum set. Well, that’s not how we teach you how to play drums!
a year before you actually learn how to play a song…not a song that you like, but a song from your music book. I know that’s not how I’d like to learn how to play the piano!
probably seen it dozens of times. Music schools showing their instructors playing sweep arpeggios, blazing through major scales and tapping like Eddie Van Halen. Cool right? Well, yeah, if you already know how to do that. But then it gets better…The instructor in the video shows you the notes he (or she) is playing in slow motion. After an hour or so you finally get this awesome part down. Now what? You go to rehearsal with your band and you say; “Hey guys, look what I can do! I just learned this from my guitar teacher. He even has a Youtube channel with these really awesome guitar riffs. You should have a look”. So your bass player, rhythm guitar player and piano player ask; “That is great…let’s put that in our new song! What key is it in? What chords should we play in the background?” And your response; “Hmmmm good question…there was no mention of that in any of the lessons I took!”
